An electrical contractor is running new conduits up and down the bridge piers and along the bottom of the decking at the facility. The Underground Detective’s job was to scan the 148 drilling locations in the piers to locate the rebar so that nothing will he hit when they do their drilling. The drilling locations are where there anchors will go to hold the conduits.

What We Used to scan drilling locations

We used our concrete scanning equipment for this job. Specifically, we use the MALÅ GPR CX System, the most flexible and comprehensive concrete scanning system on the market. With the MALÅ GPR CX System, we are able to detect metallic and non metallic objects and features such as rebar, post tension cables, metallic/non-metallic conduits and pipes, and voids, as well as measure slab thickness.
